another year has come!
Alhamdulillah for being to survive yet another year~

eleh. tahun lepas nye pon tunggang-langgang lagi

oh well~ better have something then nothing right?
this year:

make every day better than the day before.

kan senang buat azam camni. haha :)

p/s: i have only one heart. please don't break it

still young

Alas~

i can FINALLY say:

goodbye freshman, hello sophomore!

it was kinda early to shout this out after the finals, so I took the liberty to save it after the results are out. it was worth every minute :)

p/s: currently HATING people that don't understand hidden meanings. READ BETWEEN THE LINES for goodness sake!!

nerd vs. geek

Something to prove to myself that I'm not. But you probably may be. Haha~

Nerd

1. A person who pursues intellectual activities
Well, i guess this makes nearly everyone a nerd!

2. A person who pursues obscure interests that are age-inappropriate rather than engaging in social or popular activities.
urm.. is main layang-layang age-inappropriate? At least I'm not engaged in mengayam tikar or something like that.. but, I'm not engaged in anything particular really.

3. Often excluded from physical activity and considered a loner by peers.
Oh, just name the game you wanna play. I'll join. Most of the time. Plus, siapa yang selalu main 'polar bear' huh?

4. Tend to associate with like-minded people.
I don't mind with who I mingle. Everyone has their own colours.

5. Bookishness and social ineptitude.
Oh-kay. I know I love books but i don't think i qualify to have the sense of bookishness. Nor do i suffer from social ineptitude. I just feel that I should have some time for myself at times.

6. Studied rather than partied.
This is soooooo not me. You should see how i study :)

7. Show a pronounced interest in subjects where others tend to find dull or complex or difficult to comprehend or overly mature for their age; especially topics related to science, mathematics and technology.
Thank God philosophy and history isn't included. Haha! I like maths but only the simple ones. I like science but failed my biology. Technology? I guess this makes orang yang gila dekat slr dia tuh a nerd. haha~

8. May show an interest in activities that are viewed by their peers immature for their age such as comic books, trading cards, and other things relating to fantasy and sci-fi.
*Gasp* Cancel main layang-layang kat atas tadi! I swear! I play kites just to release my stress levels. Tak tipu. Besides, I don't show any interest relating to fantasy or sci-fi. Except Captain Kirk of Star Trek :P

9. Physically unfit either obese or very thin.
I'm not very thin. I had to alter my baju kurung this recent raya because I gained weight but I'm not obese.

10. A person who is intelligent, respectful, interesting, and able to earn a large salary.
I am neither of the above.

Geek

1. Obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics etc.
Meaning those in love and obsessed over their partners are geeks? lol. I admit, I'm obsessed over books though.

2. A person heavily interested in technology especially computing and new media.
This is so NOT me because I'm quite tech illiterate.
3. A person who relates academic subjects to the real world outside of academic studies.
urm.. urm.. I thought application is one of the steps to better learning? No? Hmph~
4. A person who chooses concentration over conformity.
haha~ I have a short span of attention. How can I concentrate?
CONCLUSION: i'm neither a nerd nor a geek :)

blood is always thicker than water

I've totally vanished on the planet's face since 3 days ago. But I'm back now anyway. To those who texted me but got no reply, I beg for forgiveness.

One of my cousins died last friday and only managed to finish 3 of his spm papers. The police suspected foul play and opened a case under section 302 under the Penal Code which was STUPID, because siblings don't kill each other. Well, normal siblings.

Of course, some suspected that there was foul play, but seriously, what kind of sibling kills his brother and then cries like the world has come to an end? stupid. stupid. stupid.

If only I was at the hospital, I'd surely come up with all the legal terms to silence the police who was tormenting and provoking. But unfortunately, I had to stay at their house cleaning up the blood. Ugh. But I'd rather clean up blood than looking at corpses :)

p/s: ina, sayang sehidup semati perlu mandi dulu :P

sayang sehidup semati

another random post without any direction

my sayang sehidup semati just came back this evening

:)

*thank you father and all to those who have contributed to the revival of sayang sehidup semati*

p/s: if you're not enjoying your holidays, please don't spoil mine. You know who you are.

pp/s: i think i finally learnt the meaning of 'rindu', but i'm still unsure. haha

for the sake of being alive

this update is just to clarify that i am still living and breathing :D
and for those people bugging me by saying 'bila nak update blog'
*no offence*

1. The reason why I went to the pre-marriage course

Many people have done guessing but not even one came close. haha. seriously.

  • >I'm getting married

This is so far the stupidest guess

  • >I have a boyfriend

Duh~

  • >I want to know how to be someone's second wife

*gasp* gila ke apa!!

it was nothing. Seriously. I went there just for the sake of knowing what it's like to go. And get info. (Gila poyo my reason but what the heck). I'm the kind of person who likes to experience things on a first hand basis. Tak best la kalau dengar orang lain je yang bercerita.

*lepas ni, nak pergi bungee jumping from KL Tower pulak*

:)

2. The reason why I didn't get mad at the pakcik who rammed into my car

People have made speculations saying that,

'komfem ain marah kat pakcik tuh. mesti gile ah'

Marah? Jauh sekali. I smiled at the pakcik yang gelabah gila saying sorry. Relax pakcik. I don't mind you ramming into people's car. That's what insurances are for. By the way, it felt like a load had been rolled of my mind. Crazy, but true.

3. The reason why I didn't tell anyone about the accident

Duh~ obviously. It reminded me of my sayang sehidup semati. Poor sayang sehidup semati. His butt has been kissed ferociously. haha.

4. The reason why I'm currently broke

urm.. urm.. this is all due to the stressful finals! Of course I needed something to get my mind of it. Two novels and one bag is just the beginning. muahaha~ *wink* (something special is on the way!)

:P

*oh father and mother, please support me. I am currently money-less*

5. The reason why I like to eat alone

Boleh melahap sesuka hati without anyone looking at how hodoh your face is. But, I do it anyway in public or private. So what. It's a free country.

6. The reason why I haven't updated for so long

obviously. I don't like the connection in uia. And i'm not that kind of person who misuses the library pc for blogging purposes ( yep 'you', jangan terasa). And I haven't been to nenek's house for such a loooooong time. And I haven't been home since the raya hols which is by the way nearly 2 months.

7. The reason why I did not go back for such a long time

I don't want to face an empty home.

*Baik duduk library baca buku*

But now it's the school holidays. Yeah~

8. The reason why I don't have facebook

Despite being called lame and out-dated, I personally think facebook is zilch. Maybe some say that facebook is great for searching old lost friends. Me? I don't remember who my friends were. Sorry~ not my fault.

BONUS QUESTION

8. The reason why I don't want to be in a relationship.

haha. no way i'm answering this question.

no. way.

okay, so here's the update. Hope you enjoyed it because I really don't care if you don't.

p/s: tak kena marah pon sebab balik lambat~ thank you cik razi for driving like being chasen by cracks in 2012 :P

ramadhan oh ramadhan part III: my faith, my culture

Eid is just around the corner, today being the 24th of ramadhan. Last minute shopping, cookies baking, changing curtains and bedspreads, sweeping and mopping, servicing the car, everything is scrutinized for the 'day of victory'.

In the midst of we, Muslims in Malaysia, celebrating Eid, there are certain things that we may have overlooked at, thinking that this is our culture and it doesn't clash with our religion.

1. Lighting up oil lamps (adat malam tujuh likur)

This is normally done at kampung, where you can find houses that are decorated with colourful pelita hanging from the fences.

There is also the new kind of oil lamps that have a modernized look without leaving out the elements of traditional-like. Lighting up oil lamps have been in our culture since I don't know when, but it starts 10 nights before the end of ramadhan. Some says that it starts 7 nights before the end of ramadhan. According to folklore, the reason behind lighting up oil lamps is to guide the angels that will come down during the night of lailatulqadr. Of course, this folklore is only folklore and not in accordance with our faith. This culture is also said to be adapted from the Hindus.

2. Playing fire-crackers

This is one of the main reasons childern get so hyped when syawal is coming. (Adults get hyped too, you know!) The fire-cracker that makes the loudest sound is considered the best. But do you realize that the Chinese use fire-crackers during their celebration to ward off evil spirits? Therefore, why are we Muslims also playing fire-crackers? (Don't even make me start on how fire-crackers bring more bad than good).

These are only some of our culture that clashes with faith. Some might say it's ok, if our intentions are good. Some vice versa.

Anyway, I know it's still early, but everyone is busy with the ending of ramadhan be it spiritual or cultural, so, Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir dan batin to all!

p/s: lunch hour starts at 12 during ramadhan? Vulgar, seriously.
